U14 Head Coach

Steph Boettger

Boettger’s journey in field hockey began at the age of 10. An alumna of Quik Stix Field Hockey Club under the guidance of Mim Chappell-Eber, she captained various teams, including the U16 Festival, Sunshine Showcase, and NIT teams from 2014 to 2015. Her leadership continued as she served as the U19 Festival and Sunshine Showcase team captain in 2015-2016.

Her high school years at South Plainfield High School were characterized by exceptional achievements in field hockey, winter track, and lacrosse. Leading her team to the Greater Middlesex County ‘GMC’ finals all four years, she secured victories in 2012 and 2013 GMCs and propelled her team to the NJSIAA Tournament Section 2 Group 2 finals three times. Boettger’s tenure at SPHS also saw her become co-captain in her senior year, earning GMC honors in 2015 and 2016.

Following high school, Boettger took her academic and athletic career to Montclair State University, where she played an integral role in the Red Hawks’ three NCAA appearances and three NJAC tournament finals during her time there, despite a season-ending injury cutting her time short in 2019.

Post-graduation, Boettger delved into coaching, serving with her former club Quik Stix, as well as at the high school level with Rumson Fair Haven (including interim varsity coach in 2021) before joining the Neptune High School field hockey squad – helping lead the team to its best-ever finish in 2023.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Family Science Human Development and Psychology from Montclair State in 2020 and is expected to complete her master’s degrees in School Counseling and Clinical Counseling from Monmouth University in the spring of 2024.
