Julia Russo

Russo graduated from the University of Pennsylvania 2023. She appeared in 49 games for the Penn Quakers during her career with 29 starts. Her career spanned five seasons, with Russo sidelined in 2019 due to injury and 2020 due to the Ivy League canceling the fall season due to COVID.

A prolific high school and club player, Russo was a four-year letter winner at West Essex High School – perennially one of the top programs in New Jersey – helping her team to a North Group 2 title her junior season. She earned second-team All-American honors in 2016, as well as first-team All-Region accolades in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Russo was also selected to play on the Junior Olympics squad in 2015 and 2016 – helping to secure a bronze medal in 2015. She finished her high school career with 108 goals and 79 assists.

Russo was also a standout for New Heights Field Hockey (and Director Robin Meaney’s original club team), a nationally-ranked club organization based out of northwestern New Jersey.
